Understanding Odds

How Betting Odds Work on Razed — A Guide for Pakistani Players

If you have ever looked at a list of betting odds and wondered exactly what the numbers mean, you are not alone. Most first-time bettors in Pakistan start with a match result — back your team and collect if they win — but as soon as you move into Asian handicap markets, over/under lines or in-play betting, the way odds are quoted becomes very relevant to how much you actually win. This guide breaks it down in plain English, the way Razed presents it to our Pakistani user base every day.

At its core, a betting odd is simply a number that tells you two things at once: how likely the platform thinks a particular outcome is, and how much profit you would make on every rupee you risk. Razed displays odds in decimal format by default — so an odd of 2.00 means that for every Rs 100 you stake, you get Rs 200 back (Rs 100 profit plus your Rs 100 stake returned). An odd of 1.50 on the same Rs 100 stake gives you Rs 150 back — a Rs 50 profit. The lower the number, the more likely the outcome is considered, and the less profit you make relative to your stake. The higher the number, the bigger the potential return but the less likely the event is expected to happen.

Decimal, Fractional and American Odds — What Is the Difference?

You will notice the odds format selector at the top of our odds tables. Razed supports three different formats because bettors across Pakistan come from different backgrounds and are comfortable with different presentations of the same information.

Decimal odds (also called European odds) are the simplest format and the default on Razed. The number shown is your total return per unit staked, including your original stake. So 2.50 means Rs 250 back for every Rs 100 staked — Rs 150 profit.

Fractional odds are more commonly associated with UK horse racing but some Pakistani players who follow the English racing scene prefer them. Fractional odds like 3/2 mean you win Rs 3 for every Rs 2 staked — so Rs 150 profit on a Rs 100 bet. The left number is profit; the right number is your stake.

American odds (also called moneyline odds) use positive and negative numbers. A positive number like +150 means you profit Rs 150 on a Rs 100 stake. A negative number like -200 means you need to stake Rs 200 to profit Rs 100. This format is popular with bettors who follow American sports like the NBA and NFL.

Whichever format you choose on Razed, the underlying value of every odd is identical — it is just a different way of expressing the same probability and potential payout. You can switch between formats at any time using the toggle at the top of the odds board.

Why Odds Change — Market Movement and Line Shifts

One thing that surprises new bettors is that the odds on a match can change significantly between the time markets open and kick-off. This is completely normal and happens on every platform, including Razed. Odds move for several reasons: a large volume of bets placed on one side, team news like a key player injury or suspension, weather conditions for outdoor matches, or simply a shift in the general betting public's opinion about a likely result.

On Razed, odds are updated automatically in real time by our pricing engine, which monitors global market movements and adjusts accordingly. This means that if you see an attractive price and you think it represents genuine value, the sooner you act on it the better — because it may shorten by the time you revisit the market. Our in-play odds during live matches update ball by ball for cricket and minute by minute for football, so there is always a fresh opportunity to find a price that suits your read of a match.

Understanding Value in Betting Odds

Experienced bettors in Pakistan talk about "finding value" — but what does it actually mean? Simply put, value exists when the probability implied by the odds is lower than the true probability you believe the outcome has. If Razed is offering 3.00 on a football team winning, the implied probability is approximately 33%. If you genuinely believe that team has a 45% chance of winning based on your own analysis, then backing at 3.00 is a value bet — you are getting more money than the true risk warrants.

Finding value consistently is what separates recreational bettors from profitable ones over the long term. Razed helps you do this by offering some of the tightest margins in Pakistan, meaning our overround (the platform's built-in edge) is kept as low as possible. A lower overround means the odds are closer to true market probability, giving you better value on every bet you place.

Cricket Betting Odds — What to Look For in Pakistan

Cricket is by far the most bet-upon sport among Razed users in Pakistan, and for good reason. The PSL is the domestic highlight of the cricket calendar, but the international schedule keeps betting markets active almost year-round. Pakistan's international matches — whether ODIs, T20s or Tests — attract enormous betting volumes on Razed, and we publish markets on every fixture the national side plays.

For T20 matches, the most commonly used markets are match winner (no draw), top run scorer, total runs over/under, and player of the match. For ODI cricket, the range of markets expands significantly — you can bet on the score at any given over number, the method of dismissal for specific batters, and detailed partnership totals. Test cricket introduces the draw as a genuine outcome, making the three-way market more balanced and often more interesting for value hunters.
